From July 11 to 15, 2026, the 10th World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB) took place in Vancouver, Canada. The international conference brought together scientists from a wide variety of fields within biomechanics to present the latest research findings, discuss new developments, and promote interdisciplinary exchange within the scientific community.
The KTmfk contributed a total of two presentations to the conference program. First, Gwen Spelly presented a poster titled “Forward Dynamic Gait Simulations Considering CPGs and Spinal Reflexes.”
In addition, the KTmfk was represented by Julian Shanbhag, who delivered a presentation on “Predictive Simulation of Sensorimotor Alterations to Characterize Postural Control in Parkinson’s Disease.” The research presented was also honored with a Travel Award from the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB). In addition to the scientific presentations, the conference offered numerous opportunities to exchange ideas with international researchers and to discuss current issues in biomechanics, simulation, and motion analysis. The diverse range of lectures, poster presentations, and discussions made WCB 2026 a valuable platform for new ideas and future collaborations.
