Doctorate Vincent Kramer

The Chair of Engineering Design warmly congratulates Mr. Vincent Kramer on successfully completing his doctoral examination (Dr.-Ing.).

In his dissertation, entitled “Method for Considering Statistically Distributed Geometric Component Deviations in the Design of Rolling Bearing Arrangements”, Mr. Kramer developed a method that enables statistically distributed geometric surface deviations of bearings and seating surfaces to be taken into account already during the design of rolling bearing arrangements.

His work makes an important contribution to modern rolling bearing design: by considering geometric deviations at an early stage, tolerances can be adapted more specifically to functional requirements, thereby systematically improving product development. The mathematical description of these deviations using the two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform represents an innovative approach with great potential for future applications in development and engineering design.

The Chair warmly congratulates Mr. Kramer on this outstanding achievement and would like to thank the examination committee, consisting of Prof. Alexander Hasse, Prof. Weidinger, Prof. Katharina Völkel and Prof. Sandro Wartzack. We wish Mr. Kramer all the very best for his future career.
