Michael Hamm has been working as an external doctoral researcher in Research Group M since April 2026. Prior to this, he completed his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and wrote his master’s thesis at the Institute of Engineering Design (KTmfk) in cooperation with GMN Paul Müller Industrie GmbH & Co. KG on the optimization of sprag geometry for bicycle applications. Since graduating, Mr. Hamm has been working at GMN and is now involved in a joint research project focusing on increasing the service life of sprag clutches in bicycle applications through experimental investigations on a jointly developed test rig.
