Doctoral Examination David Scherb
The Chair of Design Engineering congratulates Dr. David Scherb on passing his doctoral examination with flying colors. In his dissertation, Mr. Scherb addressed the topic of “Simulative design of wearable support systems using musculoskeletal human models, using the example of an ankle orthosis.” In his work, he showed how simulation-based approaches and biomechanical human models can be used to develop wearable support systems in a targeted manner and to evaluate their effect on the human musculoskeletal system in a realistic way. He has thus made an important contribution to the further development of modern orthoses and wearable assistance systems. For the first time in the history of the KTmfk, the doctoral supervisor was not the full professor, but Priv. Doz. Dr. Jörg Miehling, which means that Sandro Wartzack, as his doctoral supervisor, can now also call himself a doctoral grandfather. The chair congratulates Mr. Scherb on this special achievement and wishes him all the best and every success in his future professional and scientific career.
