The European Group of Research in Tolerancing (E-GRT) met for the 6th time – this time in Milan, Italy. The E-GRT is an association of chairs from France, Sweden, Italy, and Germany with the aim of promoting and strengthening international cooperation in the research field of tolerancing. The event focused on the exchange of expertise and the discussion of current and future challenges in tolerancing. In addition to exciting presentations by doctoral students from international partner institutes, the KTmfk was also represented with two presentations and thus contributed to the open discussion. Stephan Freitag presented a procedure for considering variations in the manufacturing process of composite assemblies and Dr. Stefan Götz presented a novel approach that allows a holistic and structured description of tolerancing.
