Struggling to manage tolerancing throughout the product lifecycle?
At KTmfk, we often faced this challenge — especially when trying to reuse and communicate tolerancing approaches across disciplines in research and industry projects. After three years of collaboration, we are happy to share the results in our latest publication.
We introduce a holistic description scheme for tolerancing, designed to:
• Support the transfer of research methods into industrial practice
• Facilitate a consistent tolerancing process
• Identify current shortcomings in existing tolerancing processes
• Structure and analyze research activities to uncover gaps and trends
The extensive supplementary material shows its application by using it to classify CIRP CAT conference papers and to consistently describe tolerancing activities from early requirements to manufacturing for our E-skate.
