Doctorate Sven Wirsching
The Chair of Design Engineering congratulates Mr Sven Wirsching on successfully passing his doctoral examination to become a Dr.-Ing. on 12.04.2024. Mr Wirsching presented the contents of his dissertation entitled “Numerical optimisation of secondary, lubricated point and elliptical contacts for the targeted design of roller bearings”. In his dissertation, he developed a method that can be used to numerically calculate the contact pressure in the lubricated roller/rib contact of roller bearings and used to optimise the geometry of roller bearings with regard to wear reduction or friction minimisation. He also passed the internal doctoral examination in the evening by his colleagues with flying colours. We wish him all the best for the future!
