Since 2019, the Chair of Engineering Design has been part of the Transregional Collaborative Research Center 285 “Method development for mechanical joinability in versatile process chains” with a subproject on the topic of “Methodical Design of versatile Joints”. In the 1st funding period, methods for the knowledge-based and data-driven dimensioning of mechanically joined assemblies were developed and transferred into a design process. During the review for the 2nd funding period, the already achieved results and the planned topics for the next four project years have received a high level of approval from the expert committee.
