Insights from the 6th Young Tribological Researcher Symposium (YTRS).

At the same time as the Bayreuth Festival, the 6th YTRS took place in Bayreuth from July 24 to 25. At the Chair of Engineering Design and CAD under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Stephan Tremmel, young researchers and students were able to present their research subjects and ideas at the symposium. Almost 15 presentations with a wide range of tribological issues were presented and subsequently discussed by around 25 participants. Kevin Neusser, research assistant at the KTmfk under the supervision of Benedict Rothammer, defended the prize for the best presentation with his contribution “Amorphous carbon coatings for total knee arthroplasty – a knee simulator evaluation” after voting by the audience and won this award for the third time in a row and thus also the wildcard for the German Tribology Conference in Göttingen. The presentations were complemented by an interesting excursion to Steingraeber & Söhne and an evening event in a relaxed atmosphere.
